Summer Product Empties!

Today, I wanted to share with y'all my summer product empties.  This is where I give mini reviews of the products that I have used up during the summer months and tell you if I would purchase again or not.

Body Care Empties
  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Shea Enriched Shower Gel in Venice Dolce Berry- I am obsessed with these body washes! The scents are amazing, stays on your skin after the shower and lathers pretty well.  I love that they have started making some of their body washes Shea enriched by including Shea, Aloe Vera, and Vitamin E, making your skin feel great after a nice shower.  The top notes include: pink plum-berry, apple blossom, and white iris.  The mid notes include: Venetian raspberry, red apricot, and frosted magnolia.  The dry notes include: blackberry musk, sandalwood sugar, and vanilla biscotti.  Overall, I smell the raspberry and blackberry scents the strongest.  For me, this was the type of body wash that you enjoy when you first use it, but as you continue to use it the smell started to overwhelm me and I wanted to just finish this product.  Therefore, I would not repurchase this particular scent from their shower gel collection.
  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Shea Enriched Shower Gel in Capri Seaside Citrus- Like the Venice Dolce Berry shower gel, I enjoyed this formula and will continue to purchase their shower gels.  The top notes include: Mediterranean grape fruit, sparkling bergamot, and juicy nectar. Mid notes include: muguet, orange flower, and coconut.  Dry notes include: amber driftwood, creamy musks, and whipped vanilla.  Overall, this product smelled like a citrus orange scent.  I would definitely repurchase this product in the future and hope that they bring this scent back next year!
  • Secret Clear Gel Deodorant in Ooh-la-la Lavender- This has been my go-to deodorant for the past couple of years.  This product does not leave that white residue on your shirt and the scent is very subtle.  Over the summer I learned about deodorants that contain the active ingredient aluminum can lead to cancer such as breast cancer.  Although I do love this product, I am going to find other deodorants that do not include this ingredient for preventative measures.

Face Empties
  • Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer UV Skin Shield SPF 15 in Normal-  I have normal to dry skin however I found this face lotion to make my skin very shiny and almost greasy looking.  I would not repurchase this product unless you have very dry skin.
  • Simple Sensitive Skin Experts Moisturizing Facial Wash- This product states that it is non-drying, has 2 vital vitamins, 1 skin loving nutrient and no perfume or dyes in this product.  I have had a hard time trying to find a face wash that doesn't break me out worse or cause my skin to have an allergic reaction to it.  I found that this face wash has done a great job cleansing and nourishing my skin and would repurchase this product.

Candle Empties
  • Bath & Body Works Scented Candle in Seaside Escape-  This was my all-time favorite summer candle that I had this year!  I was given this candle from my family for my birthday in July and was obsessed with it ever since! I will confess that I am addicted to all Bath and Body Works candles and love to stock up on them at the turn of each new season on their 2 for $22 candle sales.  This particular scent includes: luscious guava and passion fruit blend deliciously with pineapple, juicy strawberry and rick tonka bean.  The smell of this candle makes me think I am on an exotic island resort drinking frozen fruity drinks.  I would repurchase this candle next year!
  • Yankee Candle in Bahama Breeze-  This candle was a huge disappointment for my husband and I.  Without burning the candle and smelling it up close the candle smells like a fruity summer drink like it states.  However when burning this candle we did not smell anything.  No matter how close we were standing over the flame or away from it, this candle didn't produce a smell and could have just been an unscented candle for all we cared.  For how expensive Yankee Candles are I was extremely unhappy with this candle and it killed me how long it took to burn this candle.  Don't get me wrong, I love when candles last a long time but when you can't smell anything and it's just a flame it just irritated me.  I do have some Christmas scented candles that I bought at the same time as this candle last winter and pray that they release a scent when I burn them.  However, I will not repurchase any Yankee Candles and will stick with my beloved Bath and Body Works candles which are more cost effective and produce a scent when burning!

 Makeup Empties
  • Benefit High Beam-  This product is a great pink highlight color.  I love using this product on my cheek bones to give my face a luminous subtle glow.  I have already purchased a full size of this product and recommend it to everyone in need of a liquid highlight!
  • Elf Eyelid Primer-  I have repurchased and repurchased this product.  I would say this is a dupe for Urban Decay's Primer Potion without the $19 mark-up of a "high-end" primer.  This product holds my eye shadow in place throughout the day, holds the color all day and helps your eye shadow from creasing! If you are using eye shadow primer and have not tried this product you are crazy.  I stand by this product and will continue to repurchase it for as long as I can.
  • Elf Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara-  This summer I have started getting into doing my brows.  I was using this product to hold my eyebrows in place after filling them in.  I found that this product flaked and hardened my eyebrows making them look unnatural.  I would not repurchase this product. Since using this product I have used Maybelline's Great Lash mascara in Clear which works much better for this purpose and didn't flake off on my eyebrows.
  • L'oreal Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara in Carbon Black-  This mascara is my all-time favorite mascara.  It is not a rubber brush and makes my eyelashes thick and voluminous without making them look clumpy.  I loved this mascara so much that I used it as my mascara of choice on my wedding day.  The waterproof statement is true, I can wear this mascara in the shower, at the pool/beach and it does not smudge.  Love this mascara and will definitely repurchase.
  • L'oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Blackest Black-  This is a small rubber brush mascara that was perfect for doing my lower lashes.  Although it is not waterproof, I found that it did well with not smudging on my eyes until the end of the day.  I don't know if I would repurchase this product however because it didn't really seem like it was anything special when I used it.
  • CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara in Very Black- This was my alternative to L'oreal Carbon Black Mascara.  I used this on the days that I wanted a rubber brush applicator.  I found that this mascara wasn't as voluminous as the L'oreal mascara but did give my eyelashes an overall nice appearance including some added length as well as volume.  I would recommend this mascara and would repurchase it!

 Makeup Remover Empties
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes (Blue Label)- This is a makeup remover staple for me.  These wipes are unscented and are great for taking off one's makeup at the end of the day or even touching up any makeup mistakes while applying your makeup.  Over the summer season, I used 3 of these babies and will continue to repurchase.
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes (Grey Label)- When I ran out of my Neutrogena remover wipes I went to Target and found a double pack of what stated were the same remover wipes but in a different packaging with a grey label instead of a blue label.  This product has a strong scent that I did not find pleasant when removing my makeup.  I don't know why Neutrogena would make 2 different products with the same exact writing on the packaging but a different label.  If you like a strong fragrance on your makeup remover wipes then purchase the grey label ones. Personally, I would like to stick with the blue label unscented wipes if they still make them.

 Random Empties
  • Up & Up Nail Polish Remover- This is a staple product for me. I have used some name brand nail polish removers but find that this cheap target brand nail polish remover does the job just as well. Nothing special about this product but would repurchase it when I run out.
  • Bausch + Lomb Bio True Multi-Purpose Solution for Eyes-  I have previously used the Opti-Free Contact solution but when in a pinch this Target brand alternative I have found has the same effect.  Target also gives out a lot of additional coupons with this product and has sales on it throughout the year.  Would repurchase.
  • Crest Complete Multi-Benefit Extra Whitening with Tartar Protection Clean Mint Toothpaste-  This has been a repeat product that my husband and I have used since we were in high school.  Although we love the flavor and it may have prevented cavities we have not noticed any significant whitening effect with using this toothpaste.  I think I may try the Colgate optic white toothpaste next and see if it has any added benefits to use.

LUSH- Pink Bath Bomb Review

I recently purchased and used a LUSH- Pink Bath Bomb and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

This bath bomb was inspired by Audrey Hepburn and is fragranced with tonka beans and vanilla. I originally purchased this bath bomb because it smelled a lot like LUSH's Creamy Candy Bubble Bar!! This bath bomb smells like so good like a candy that you would love to eat!! When I placed it into my tub it instantly let out a hot pink color that filled up my bath and released pink paper hearts!! I absolutely loved this bath bomb!! It really is a girl's dream in a tub!! The fragrance fills up the bathroom and lasted the rest of the night.

The only and major con that I have with this bath bomb is that it stained my tub and my bath towel.  Because I had my hands in the water for so long it stained my hands pink and no matter how much I rinsed off when I grabbed my white towel (of course) it instantly stained hot pink all over it.  I really don't like the way this product stains the tub and stained my bath tub.

Final Conclusion:  Although I loved this bath bomb and thoroughly enjoyed it while I was in the bath, I would not repurchase this product.  I don't want to have to deal with the staining effect that this bath bomb did in my bathroom.

Blueberry Muffins

These are my go-to Blueberry Muffins!! They are great to make on a Sunday afternoon, store them then have them for breakfast over those busy work week mornings!!! I like to also add a bit of cinnamon sugar on top to give the muffins a nice crunchy topping to give the muffin a great texture!!  This recipe makes approximately 11 muffins.

Here's what you'll need (Ingredients):
1 3/4 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)  (I used fresh blueberries in my recipe)
Topping- Equal parts sugar and cinnamon, to taste (optional) with 1/4 tsp unsalted butter

Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°.
2. Stir the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.  (I used my stand mixer's bowl for this step.)
3.Mix milk, egg, oil, sugar and vanilla in a small-medium bowl with a wire wisk.
4. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until moistened.
5. Gently fold in Blueberries and let the batter sit for approximately 1 minute.

(Steps 2-5 Pictured Above)

6. While the batter sits for a minute, it is time to make your topping. (Optional).  I melted a tiny piece of unsalted butter in the microwave and poured it over equal parts sugar and cinnamon to taste, until it reached a consistency like the picture below.
 (Step 6-Pictured Above)

7. Fill sprayed muffin pan with muffin mixture.  I used an icecream scoop to make the muffins equal in size and easy to plop.  (I was only able to make 11 muffins with this recipe so I added water to the last muffin insert in my pan).  Sprinkle each muffin with cinnamon sugar mixture and place into the oven.

(Step 7)

8. Bake 20-22 minutes or until golden brown.  Let cool in pan until its easily transferable onto a cooling rack.
9. Serve and ENJOY!! :)

I hope you all try this recipe and let me know how you like it!!  Happy Baking! :)

Week In Review (Aug 12-18, 2013)

This week has been a pretty chill week.

Monday, we had a plan to wake up at 5:00am and workout before Isaac headed to work.  This lasted all of the 30 minutes it took for him to get ready to realize we will not have enough time to workout and have him get ready for work on-time.  Epic Fail! :) So he went to work and it turned out to be an average day until we decided to go out to dinner.  We went to McAlisters Deli which is our favorite deli place to eat.  If you have not heard of this place its very similar to Panera but the prices are cheaper and they have way more options for the choose 2 meal.  I just hate when I go to Panera and have to pay extra to have a salad besides the House or Cesar or to get the Chipotle Chicken sandwich.  But, with eating at McAlisters I can get pretty much the same things as I get at Panera but without the extra prices. We also stopped by Barnes N Noble for Isaac to get the next book in the series that he is reading and I realized that I have ALOT of books that I want to read this year.  Currently, I am reading The Scorch Trials by James Dashner and am loving it.  To keep track of what I am reading and different reviews of books you can checkout my Good Reads site. http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/9430490-elizabeth

Tuesday, was a busy housework day for me.  I spent the majority of the day cleaning our apartment and noticed that our electric socket in our bathroom didn't work.  I sent a maintenance request for it to get fixed and they came out to the apartment to fix it within the hour.  Isn't it great when things workout that quickly? If only it happened all the time!  Isaac and I spent the night vegging and whatched So You Think You Can Dance and a new discovery Capture.  Capture is a show that reminds us alot of The Hunger Games.  Its where there are teams of pairs where they run through the woods and there is one team who is The Hunter and they need to capture 2 other teams.  Once a team is captured they are put in 'jail' and the camp votes out who they want to send home.  If The Hunter team isn't able to capture 2 teams they are then put up to go home.  It is a very interesting show and we look forward to another episode this week!

Wed, I made those delicious Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies!! I previously have posted the recipe on this blog and recommend each one of you to try it!! Isaac absolutely loved the cookies and brought them to work where his co-workers enjoyed them so much they wanted me to make them more. :)

Thursday-Errands Day.  I spent the majority of the day grocery shopping, getting things accomplished for work and GETTING MY HAIRCUT!! It has been months since I have actually had my haircut and I wanted a change.  I've been growing out my hair for years now and wanted a change.  I had the lady cut it to about shoulder length with a couple of layers to frame my face. That night we cheered on our team The Carolina Panthers and although we lost that game believe that we will prevail this season! LOL.

Friday-Date Night.  Each week Isaac and I try to have one night where we can just relax and spend some quality time together.  We discovered his new 'go to spot' in town- Hickory Tavern.  This is the Lynwood Grill of our area!  The food was amazing and the atmosphere our favorite kind of sports bar!!  We also noticed that they have 60 cent wings and specials on martinis and margaritas on Wednesdays so Isaac has planned our dinners every Wednesday for the rest of our lives! :) Hickory Tavern on Wednesdays here we come!!!  After dinner we went to 2 Guns the movie, this is a very action pact movie and we enjoyed it.  Isaac a little more than me, but who can resist Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington?

Sat/Sun, this weekend Isaac spent the majority of the time Reffing and I just relaxed at home.  I tried out one of my bath bombs from LUSH (review to come) and shopped a bit around town.  I also enjoyed cooking Chicken Tacos for dinner and prepared Blueberry Muffins for Isaac to have for breakfast this upcoming week!! Oh yeah, we had the Famous Bojangles for Dinner one night as well!

I hope you all had a fabulous week as well and are looking forward to this upcoming week!

Thanks for reading!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had!! They are WAY better than any store bought cookie or plop and bake cookie dough.  I found this recipe from Organized Jen on Pintrest and would like to share the recipe and my substitutions with y'all.

The much requested chocolate chip recipe is finally here! I adapted this from the Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe from the Martha Stewart Holiday Cookies 2005 special issue. Check out OLJ for the accompanying video! Enjoy :)
Accompanying YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJedCahexL0

I followed this recipe pretty much exactly.  However, since Isaac can't eat anything with corn products which include corn syrup and corn starch I substituted another cup of semisweet chocolate for the m&ms.

I followed the recipe exactly for the batter, mixing the dry ingredients then wet ingredients and combining them at the end.  I used my KitchenAid Stand Mixer and paddle attachment with the scraper for this step. Resulting in my batter to look like the picture below.

When baking the cookies, I usually like my cookies to be big and soft.  Who needs a bunch of small cookies when you can have a delicious big cookie! :)  I used my big ice cream scoop to place each cookie on my cookie tray resulting in 15 cookies total.

I followed the recipe and flipped my tray after 7 minutes and then took them out about a little over 8 minutes when the sides turned a light golden brown.  I then let the cookies finish cooking on the tray for about 6 minutes and then let them cool on cooling racks before eating.

I hope you all try this recipe and let me know how you like it!!  Happy Baking! :)

Week in Review (August 1-11, 2013)

Today, I wanted to start a new blog post that I hope to be publishing weekly.  Here I will talk briefly about my previous week and any tidbits that may seem interesting.  I plan on posting these like I said weekly either on Sundays or Mondays.

To start off I wanted to apologize for not having any posts up during the past couple of weeks.  Isaac and I have been very busy with his new job and having myself go through the job search phase of my career.  Luckily, I was able  find a job in my dream career of recruiting and will be starting work in 2 weeks!!! I can't wait to start this chapter in my life and look forward to learning and growing as a business professional!
I recently over the past couple of weeks have also started playing a bit with YouTube and made 2 videos.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a professional at all and this was my first time filming.  But, I just wanted to see what it was like and if I wanted to continue to explore that venture.  I am still on the fence about posting a lot of videos on YouTube but will continue to ponder it in the future.  If you are interested in my YouTube videos I will post the links here.

The first video I did is my July Favorites.  This video is where I share what products I have been loving and using for the month of July.  I hope you enjoy!

The second video is where I share a haul with y'all from Ulta and Sephora!

I hope you enjoy those videos and let me know in the comments any suggestions/requests you have for that channel.

Back to some random things that have happened over the past couple of weeks.  Isaac and I went up to Raleigh, NC to visit his family and help out with the beginning of the soccer tournament season!! The weekend of Aug 2-4th was a 3v3 tournament and was on Saturday.  We all woke up very early that day to be on the soccer fields by 7am to host the tournament.

This tournament was alot of fun to work and I was able to manage the time halfway through the tournament and blow the air horn every time the games needed to start-halftime-end.  I always enjoy coming out to the fields and spending time with the Jordan family and all the fellow referees over the years!

The following week, I decided to paint my nails Essie's Bikini So Teeny for the first time.  This nail polish is a gorgeous periwinkle blue with some faint tiny sparkles.  I have heard great things about this particular nail polish from other bloggers and YouTubers in the past.  However, I was quite disappointed in this product.  As you may know I don't often or like to put on the whole shabang like base coat and top coat.  So when putting this nail polish on I just did as I normally did and painted without these extra steps.  Turned out that two coats made a lovely color on the nails and looked amazing. During the end of the day and following subsequent days after I found that this nail polish chips like no other!!! I was so upset when I started noticing my nail polish was chipping!!  I painted both my fingernails and toes and where as my toes seemed chip free my nails were totally destroyed after day 2 with this polish.  I apologize for not having a picture of my nails with this polish on it but I was just so apauled that the polish chipped the way it did.  In the future with this polish I plan on trying it with both base coat and top coat and will let you all know how it turns out.

This past weekend was a great relaxing weekend for both Isaac and I.  We were able to celebrate my new job and eat out at Maggiano's Italian Restaurant which is one of my favorite Italian restaurants to go to! Isaac had never eaten there before and although he did like the food would prefer to go to The Cheesecake Factory which was right next door to the restaurant for future Italian endeavors. :)  The next couple of days we also had our date night where we went to our new favorite mexican restaurant in the area called Cabo's Mexican Cuisine and Cantina! The food there was so delicious and I can normally have a lunch portion for the next day with the portion size that comes with the scrumptious Vegetarian Platter!  Isaac and I went to the movies to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters after dinner.  I rather enjoyed this movie with all the mythical creatures and scenes in the movie.  Isaac's first comment about the movie, "That was a very kid movie...nobody died...and the people who did die just came back to life."  Haha he's more into the 300 type movies where alot of people die and its not such a happy-go-lucky film.  O well :) I enjoyed it!!

Yesturday, we wanted to start our house hunting expedition!  We plan/hope to move into a house of our own within the next 2 years and want to start getting a feel for the different areas and floor plans to houses we may be interested in.  I just have to share that we found a Cook Out on our drive!! Now, I don't remember if I have ever been to one of these but I have heard great things about it through different people and Isaac.  So, I suggested that we stop by for a quick snack.  I had the Reese Cup milkshake and Isaac had a full meal :)  The milkshake was unbelievably good however once I put it into my calorie counter app for the day realized it was 7/8th of the calories I typically allow myself to eat, I realized this would definitely be a once in a while treat.  Although it did take all of my calories for the day, I did enjoy the milkshake and thought it was well worth it! :)

I hope you all had a great couple of past weeks and are happy and healthy!! Stay tuned for the next Week in Review next week!

Nail of the Day: Violet Frenzy

Today I really wanted a bold pop of color on my nails but with some added sparkle in the mix.  This is a great summer nail look especially if you are looking for something other than coral or blue on your nails.

I am not the type of girl who will use both base coat and top coat every time I paint my nails.  I only put on these products if the nail polishes either stain my nails or don't give off the shine that I want from my nail look.  However, this nail polish duo does an amazing job with giving my nails that shiny coat without staining my nails when I take them off.  I have found that these two specific brands are also great at not chipping on my nails.  I have worn this nail polish look for a little over a week without any top coat and they are chip free!!

I love Sally Hansen's Xtreme wear nail color nail polish line!! I believe this is their best line of nail polishes that the brand carries.  This nail polish is Xtreme(ly) easy to apply :) and very pigmented.  The color in Violet Voltage is a beautiful almost metallic purple.  The light reflects off this nail color perfectly to give you that glossy manicure look.  I applied this as my base coat for my nail today and used two coats.  Now don't get me wrong this polish can definitely be applied with just one coat and look just as stunning.  I love how this polish does not streak and applies smooth over each nail.  This polish is also fast drying which makes it easy to add more coats to your nails and having the added benefit of not feeling helpless while your nails dry! You can grab this color at any drugstore or Ulta and retails for approximately $3-$4 for this .4 oz bottle.

Sinful colors is an great budget-friendly nail polish brand sold at Target and Walgreens!  There are a variety of nail colors and they are only $1.99! There are also sales at Walgreens where I have seen these polishes for only 99 cents a total steal!!  This polish is called Frenzy and is a clear polish with purple and blue small glitter flecks.  This polish does a great job of getting an evenly coated glitter look without having the clumps and stickiness that most glitter polishes have.  I coated my nails 2 coats of this polish after my Sally Hansen polish and it made a great look! If you haven't tried any Sinful Colors polishes I would give them a try!

I <3 Summer Tag

This is a fun tag created by the youtuber MissGlamorazzi and I thought I should share my responses with y'all.
1. Favorite bronzer for summer?
My favorite bronzer for the summer is Rimmel London's Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze.  This bronzer is great for giving me that sun kissed glow that every girl wants.  The texture of this bronzer is so smooth and easy to use.  It definitely gives my face a flawless look.  This is a super affordable bronzer that is approximately $3-5 dollars and can be purchased at any drugstore or Ulta.

2.You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island.  What are you sipping on?
I would have to be sipping on a strawberry margarita with sugar on the rim.  I just love having margarita's on the beach and this was my drink of choice when my husband and I went on our honeymoon to Cancun!

3. Favorite summer lip product?
Right now I am loving my Maybelline Vivid lipstick in Fuchsia Flash!  This lipstick is a great way to add color to any makeup look.  It is a very vibrant hot pink lipstick that I love to pair with a neutral eye look.  The formula of the Maybelline Vivids are amazing and increased my beginning obsession with wearing a pop of color on my lips.

4.Pool or Beach?
The beach ALL THE WAY!! I love just relaxing on the beach with a good book and my toes in the sand.  Also, with the beach you get interactive water with the waves crashing all around you instead of  the pool that has been sitting there since who knows how long. :)

5.Summer = Crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product?
Currently, I am using it's a 10 miracle leave in product. I use this product right when I get out of the shower and spray it all over my hair then brush it out with a wide-tooth comb.  It has done a decent job with controlling my frizz and detangling my hair, but I am still on the search for a better product.

6. Favorite summer nail polish!!
I am absolutely in love with my Wet N Wild Megalast nail polish in the color I Need A Refresh-Mint.  I apply this beautiful light blue/green color with 1-2 coats.  I have also found that these nail polish colors last a lot longer on my finger nails then Butter London polishes and are WAY less the price.  These polishes go for about $1.99 and you get .45 fl oz, can you say BARGAIN!! I recommend all you girls out there to try these nail polishes out!

7. Any summer traditions?
I big tradition in my family is to go to the beach!! We love visiting Myrtle Beach most specifically.  I love laying out on the beach for the day then going out to Broadway on the Beach for a fantastic night.

8. Favorite summer scent?
Bath and Body Work's Cherry Blossom body splash has been my comeback summer scent.  I have had this fragrance since my Grandma gave it to me with a whole set of cherry blossom smelling goodies for Christmas.  Since then I have repurchased many of the body washes and lotions but this fragrance is still kicking.  I love spritzing this on myself in the summer whenever I want a nice floral scent that isn't too strong during these summer months.

9. Favorite BBQ food?
You can never go wrong with my dad's or uncle Steve's pork butt!  They make the best pulled pork I have ever had and spend a good amount of time cooking it!! I need to get their recipe one day and try making some pork butt for myself, yet it probably won't come close to deliciousness.

10. What's your favorite summer-proof product?
When I first heard this question I was thinking a sunscreen that keeps your skin safe in the sun.  Then I thought about my waterproof mascara! I use L'oreal Paris's Voluminous Carbon Black mascara in waterproof and this puppy doesn't let me down.  This mascara does a fantastic job making my lashes voluminous and dark without getting clumpy.  I can wear this mascara in the pool, high heat and humidity and it has an amazing lasting power without having mascara run down your face!

11. Any summer vacation plans this year?  No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!
Since, Isaac and I have had a busy summer so far with traveling to Myrtle Beach with the family, moving to a new apartment and him starting his new job we don't have any more big plans for this summer.  We are looking forward to visiting my family in South Carolina next weekend where we are going to celebrate my birthday and get to relax with the family.  However, next summer I would love to go to Disney World or back to Cancun!

Well, that was the tag! I hope you guys enjoyed reading my responses to this tag!! I would love for y'all to write a comment below with your responses as well.

Pre-Ceremony Item Details

My wedding dress was from Impression Bridal in Kennesaw, GA.

Wedding Bouquet from Blueberry Spring Florist.

Shoes from Off Broadway Shoes

Engagement Ring from DiamondsRForever

Customized Sweatshirts

Glendalough Manor

Our Wedding was held at Glendalough Manor in Georgia in March 2013!

www.glendaloughmanor.com

The venue was a bride's dream!! Glendalough Manor helped with each step of the planning process.  There was even a vendor day where they brought all their preferred vendors to the venue to meet with Isaac (the groom) and I to go over flowers, cake, catering, etc.  I was very happy with the wedding planning process and learned alot from the experience.  My most important tip for any bride is to find a venue that has catering and will put out your decorations for the ceremony and reception for you and your family.  This way you and your bridesmaids and family can enjoy the night before the wedding and wedding day without having to worry about table settings and such.

We had an outdoor ceremony with a reception inside in the Avondale ballroom. Pictures of the venue on signing day are below.  As some of you may notice, this is the venue that was on the show Drop Dead Diva.

Our Engagement Journey

Isaac had been planning the proposal for months.  In fact, the center diamond on Elizabeth's engagement ring was given to her by her great-grandmother, Margaret Dize.  Isaac & Elizabeth had already purchased the setting and had the ring made, so it was just a matter of time...
In May of 2011, Elizabeth was told that she would be coming to Raleigh, NC for the week to be with his family and work a soccer tournament.  However, after Isaac had picked her up from the airport, she realized that they were going a weird direction to his house.  He then announced that they were headed to the beach! Isaac then proceeded to tell her that she was to be the navigator when he gave her the directions to a hotel on the beach in Myrtle Beach!!!
When they got to the hotel, they enjoyed a nice dinner then went for a walk on the beach.  While the two of them were walking, they started talking about the future.  At this point, Isaac got down on his knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" And the rest is history!
Elizabeth said YES and now-- almost 2 years later-We celebrated our wedding on March 2, 2013
